The smarter the tech gets the stupider the users get.

They should have a way to disrupt the radio waves that control the drones without disrupting the radio waves that control the ILS.

Difficult to do.

The radio's use a form of spread spectrum technology that uses a PRN (pseudo random number) that is only known to the TX and RX, The number is based upon a 32 bit code that gives approx 4 Gig of combinations. Some radio's in addition use a form of frequency hopping again using a pseudo random sequence.

Diversity you know. :D

A lot of this hysteria over drones is just that: hysteria.

There's people who passionately and irrationally hate drones and there's the law enforcement thugs who hate everything they can't control and the authoritarians who think that people have to have permission for every human activity.

It's just an RC helicopter with a camera is all.

I don't know about Canada but in the USA if a drone is flying over your backyard and you shoot it down then you've just shot down an aircraft and you'll be heading for a Federal court.

Myself, I don't understand the derangement over these things because they can only see what's in public view anyway. Google can see all the same things a drone can see. So can police helicopters and news helicopters.

Big deal.

Neighbour: Have you seen my drone?
Me: You mean that tangled mess of junk in my backyard?
Neighbour: WTF man... what happened?
Me: It must have hit a tree.
Neighbour: There are no trees here.
Me: Well that's a bummer.

If I'm screwing in my backyard and a drone flies overhead, the drone owner is fucked. If I'm screwing on a hike in a public park and a drone flies overhead, I just got caught.

Note: True story, my girlfriend and me, a helicopter, public land (Pierre Eliot Trudeau airport) and a oleoduct.

See, that's where this gets dicey.

If I fly a drone straight up over MY property but where it can see your property then are you going to be bothered by it?

If it is 100 meters above my property then would you count that as 'overhead' for yourself?

Also, even more fun is the fact that government is starting to use these things.

Law enforcement, fire departments, and tax assessors are all starting to use them.

Talk about 'fucked' because that's what you'll be if you shoot down the Queen's drone.

$1:
From Transport Canada

When you fly a drone for any reason you should generally not fly:

around airports and aerodromes
in busy, populated areas
in national parks
over border crossings

You can only fly your drone in these areas for specific purposes by getting permission from Transport Canada.
