His position on pipelines took courage, his position on Castro didn't take courage, it required thought and at best diplomacy, which is why he revisited his words the next day. Which, is a strong leadership trait, not being entrenched and rigid.
I do agree that Trudeau was wise to discuss his position on XL, it allows him to use it as currency with Trump and maximize what little leverage we have. However, we are over a barrel on trade no matter what. The resut of a centralized government that rewards big government, something Cherry knows alot about since he has profited handsomely from his time at CBC.
