Gee, thanks for dumping this drunker and fucker on us, like the RCMP needs help with its image in BC.

Hey, I know, he can team up with Monty, and move up from drinking and dinking, to murder.. that'll teach those bastards in Edmonton for sending him to the boonies.

The police continue to unimpress, quickly running down East European cops for idiocy.

He should have been let go, not demoted and docked two weeks pay.

It's because of slap-on-the-wrist incidents like this that police forces across the country have an almost perpetual black eye. If the RCMP made examples of guys like this (or the guys in the Derzienski case), public opinion would do a 180.

Frankly, the RCMP have only themselves to blame for their low public opinion.

Compared to what others have done, this guy certainly shouldn't be fired, since the others weren't. He's a boor and an idiot, but he didn't kill or assault anybody or misuse his power.

Just pointing out that his misdeeds pale in comparison. If we fire all the rotten apples the barrel is going to start looking a bit empty. (For the howlers, note I said a bit empty, ie down quite a few apples. This is not to imply that all RCMP are rotten apples in any way shape or form, so maybe we can skip the howling this one time?)

Obviously 10 days pay and 1 rank demotion isn't working as a deterrent.

And how many other good female officers has this "man" terrorized who are afraid to come foreward?

Does it ever stop? These guys really make us woman feel comfortable and safe when stopped by cops alright. I sure wouldn't want to be stopped by a cop in the middle of the night on a deserted road. I'm not sure I would stop.

Knowing one of the officers involved in the Dziekański case, why should all the officers be fired for the actions of 1?

Well, Robinson was in charge, certainly he bears responsibility. Did any of the officers involved suggest not just tasering him. Any of them intervene when he was tasered repeatedly? Any of them speak up about what happened and not try to bullshit - they're charged with perjury after all.

Because all four lied about the incident. That alone IMHO, should be grounds for dismissal from a police force.

If I changed my statement after giving it in similar circumstances - that is grounds for a charge right there. If I did it on the stand, it's perjury.

I trust cops to do a difficult and dangerous job and for that I respect them, but the flip side if that they have to be accountable for their actions.

Well, that's not true.

None of the 4 officers been convicted of anything. Only allegations have been made.

We'll find out this fall.

Well, the Braidwood Inquiry seems to disagree with you then;

$1:
The initial claims by all four officers that they wrestled Mr. Dziekanski to the ground were untrue. In my view they were deliberate misrepresentations, made for the purpose of justifying their actions.

http://www.braidwoodinquiry.ca/report/P ... ummary.php

As does with Wikipedia;

$1:
Before the video was released to the public, the RCMP repeatedly claimed that only three officers were at the scene. There were actually four officers at the scene. The RCMP also said that they did not use pepper spray because of the risk it would have posed to bystanders. The video, however, suggests the incident occurred in an area separated from bystanders by a glass wall. The actual location of the incident was inside the international arrivals area, which is separated by glass. Those waiting to greet arriving international passengers can view the area from the waiting lounge on the other side of the glass. An RCMP spokesperson also stated that batons were not used, which was also contradicted by the video.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Dzi ... r_incident

Based on what I've read and seen, those four obstructed justice and lied as long as they could until the video proving they lied surfaced. Then they all changed their stories.

Oh no you di'int. Now OTI will be all over you for using Wiki and cutting and pasting. Bet you Googled to find the Braidwood quote too. Be afraid.
