RNG RNG:
India isn't exactly a third world country anymore, in spite of it's huge problems. Look at the rate of GDP increase. The extreme monsoons didn't help, but a news story I read on the CBC website suggested it was mainly corruption in the construction process that caused the problems. I'm really surprised, as the government has been trying so hard to impress the world, much like the Chinese with their Olympic effort.
India has the highest
per capita deaths from malnutrition/starvation. The GDP may be increasing, but per capita India ranks 127th in the world, at $3,100, one spot ahead of the Gaza strip, one behind Iraq. The world average is in 84th place at $10,500, so India is well down from the average. And, it's very unevenly distributed. It's a 3rd world country all right.
But really, we should be copying India here. Those jobs we can't outsource to Asia, we should hire children to do here. We can pay them much less, they're too stupid and weak to organize or fight back. Think of all the money we could save on projects. As for the adults thrown out of work, well the stupid suckers should go back to school so they can get a job that kids can't do. Tho I wouldn't suggest they retrain in IT, since that is another place we could save mucho bucks hiring kids.
