Just wow, it goes to show how little Americans know about Charles Darwin and how they want to protect themselves from anything they consider Anti-Christian.

Bullhit. The US runs some damned good but a crap load of terrible swill There is no movie so bad or unpopular that I can't imagine someone not supporting it.
Where's all these enlightened Hollywood lefties or rich movie makers like Moore to prop it up?

Ok now see? I'm not THAT dogmatic in my beliefs. It's still a movie I'll be watching when it comes out. Especially from the historical/biographical perspective.
The religious uber-right is like a bowl of granola, what ain't fruits and nuts is flakes.

It doesn't matter who promotes or backs the film if there aren't any distributors willing to take it.

I dont suggest watching it for its historic representation of Darwin, Im sure there are plenty of real documenteries that would do a much better job. This movie is made for entertainment.

Well that too but I didn't wanna minimize it by cutting it down to mere entertainment [B-o] I just meant that it sounds like it could actually be an interesting movie worth watching. Probably better than the dreck that passes for "historical representation" in Hollywood.

Take U-571 for example. Great production values but sooooo historically inaccurate I couldn't watch it.

This is 100% BS. The US distributors must be panning to the extreme right. This kind of a film should be any problem.

In the past they have foisted all kinds of garbage on us not to distribute this is high hypocrisy.

Am I going to have to order this film from Canada. I will do it. I am not allow some chickenshit distributors not allow me a film that looks quite interesting.

If the distributors try to show it outfits like this would have the loonies out picketing movie houses with pics of Darwin made up to look like Hitler and no doubt dragging Obama into it somehow. :(

$1:
Movieguide.org, an influential site which reviews films from a Christian perspective, described Darwin as the father of eugenics and denounced him as "a racist, a bigot and an 1800s naturalist whose legacy is mass murder". His "half-baked theory" directly influenced Adolf Hitler and led to "atrocities, crimes against humanity, cloning and genetic engineering", the site stated.

Wellll Ok, if you wanna play some fucked up form of connect the dots, I can see it. But that would be like blaming Democritus for the atom bomb.

Well, if it's any consolation, the Christians in the US are not alone. Apparently the Taliban weren't crazy about it either.

Opposition in the US over a movie regarding Darwin and evolution?

Why does that not suprise me?

This is funny though:

$1:
The film has sparked fierce debate on US Christian websites, with a typical comment dismissing evolution as "a silly theory with a serious lack of evidence to support it despite over a century of trying".

Pot meet kettle.... and how many centuries have the other religions have to prove their own theories?

Oh that's right, they don't have to prove anything they believe in because they got faith.

Cuz I got to have faith'a faith'a faith'a...
