She's very old. ... as old as the two remaining AORs. 45 years is a long lifespan for a ship sailing in Canadian conditions. Unfortunately they do it for too often in tis 21st century.


Hey, it just occurred to me! Maybe the crew found out that the oceans are warming up! That's enough to get shut down during the current regime!

Don't know much about this ship, but I was under the impression that it was being used as a trials ship for equipment testing, etc.

Oceanographic research sounds like something that would (should) fall primarily to the Coast Guard.

Considering the RCN can't even field enough modern warships appropriate for a country of our size and economic power it makes sense to lay up the "nonessentials".

The Kingston Class can probably do a lot of what Endeavour and Quest did, anyway. I thought that they were supposed to be replacements. Perhaps, they kept Quest at sea so that Peter McKay could go fishing for Marlin.
