How is this possible I thought with Trudeau, Wynne and Notley in power they were going to destroy the economy not smash decades-old records for employment and job growth. Can someone explain?

Easily. WTF have any of them got to do with the economy? Economy is business. Gov't is what keeps people distracted, docile and thinking they're in charge of things.

I was told Alberta was a 'have not' province, despite the jobs growth. Was I misinformed?

Misinformed like we were? Took a trip to southern Alberta late last summer and had a hell of a time when all the rooms were all booked at most motels, the prices were $20-$30 a night more than in BC and every time we dined, the restaurants had more customers than any around here!
