It's strange that they claim a future Vancouver of 3.5 million people couldn't support a MLB team. Despite the fact that Montreal with half that population had one for decades.

Canada could...today.

I wonder what would happen if the dollar ever fell again?

I think MLB would be great here and I could see it being alot more successful than the NBA was. I've definitely known alot more baseball fans than basketball fans. In fact I can't even think of anyone I've known who even followed the NBA at all, except a very brief interest when the Grizzlies were in it.

When Raptor's TV came out in Ontario, it didn't last very long. I think there were something like 1000 subscribers in total.

Canada should be happy with it's current pro-sports teams and stop worrying about placing teams in already failed cities or new, small town ventures. Baseball won't work in either Vancouver or Montreal.

No NHL owner will support new teams in small market Canadian Cities.

They would if there was money to be made and it wasn't cutting into their revenue. That's why there isn't another team in southern Ontario but they had no problem approving Winnipeg to set up again.

There is money to be made sure but it goes that. It's about a lot of things like TV deals, merchandising, travel and most importantly, what can the team draw in my home building?

A team in Florida or Dallas doesn't want the team from buttfuck-nowhere Canada, they already draw shitty attendance, adding another low-budget team ain't gonna help.

If another team gets approved it's good to know that Jim Balsillie won't be part of the process anymore. Kind of disturbing to have to admit that Bettmann was right all along about that f'n guy.

TV and merchandising are all on the shoulders of that team and make no difference to the others. Travel would be shorter and less costly, but that is of no bearing to who gets in. They don't travel commercial anymore and are all chartered jets. Air Canada has 6 Airbus 320's just for charters and I've flown on the one used by the Habs. Someone in Dallas or Florida thinks Edmonton is butfuck nowhere but when 99 was playing for them.........how do you think the attendance went? In fact they charged more for the games, which they still do.
