a) Because it's a valid question
b) Because I used to believe and the only reason I can now see as to why I thought it was true is that other people told me it was true.
c) Because a Penis and Vagina have specific functions that an Abrahamic God has no need for
d) To point out the inherent flaw of God. That is, it is our creation in an attempt to explain the unknown.

Wouldn't a "gender-full" <facepalm> expression be accomplished by using "it" instead of "he" or "she"? I know using "it" would dehumanize God (I know dehumanizing something that is not human is an bit of an oxymoron but it's the best I can come up with) but wouldn't using "she" just be taking the issue to the opposite extreme?

No.

We call God "Him" because Jesus in particular referred to God as His Father ('Abba') and because Yahweh has always been considered masculine. The role of God as Father speaks to His role as a guide and disciplinarian. Yahweh has never been considered a 'nurturer' in the feminine sense and this emasculation of Yahweh by the lesbian feminists is more a manifestation of their hatred of all things male then it is an expression of their love for a God they deny.

Part of why I left the UMC was their bent for changing worship from Yahweh to Sophia, a heretical form of worship that has nothing to do with Yahweh.

I don't mind if anyone wants to worship a feminine goddess. That's fine by me. But to propose that I'm supposed to do the same or else be called out as some sort of bigot? Well, then they can just f*ck right the hell off.
