This is not going to help the pipeline projects thru BC

This is going to cost them in terms of tourism. Beautiful area, even if the city did feel "hard." you really notice you're not in NoCal anymore.

Coservative talking points:

1. (Before spill): "With today's technology and company's high moral standards, oil spills will never occur againand are a thing of the past.. HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST OTHERWISE - YOU OFFEND ME GOOD SIR!"

2. (After spill): "Big deal. Oil spills are unavoidable and happen all the time. They're perfectly harmless, it'll all get instantly cleaned up without a trace so what is all the fuss about? Nothing to see here!

Step 3) Repeat ad nauseua

Had an energy expert on the radio talking about why the US was able to move so fast on developing natural gas export infrastructure while in BC it's taking a long time. He said that the Gulf coast, especially around New Orleans is so degraded from oil and gas production, that there's no point having environmental assessments, because any further impact can't really make things any worse, while in BC we're talking about putting the development into pristine environments. BC has a lot to lose if that gets messed up. And Vancouver may not be pristine, but it's still a special place often placing in the top world cities, and our beaches and wildlife habitats are part of that.

I had to wait for a oil train to go through town the other day. I didn't count the cars but if it was a 100 car train, 80 tanker cars were all shiny and brand new looking.

Yeehaw, loadem all up and send them on out.
