COVID19 related but I uploaded it here separately as a sports article.

The Jays will play somewhere for their home games just not in Canada. It's completely understandable why the decision was made. You just can't have all those teams travelling back and forth between Toronto and so many other US cities, many of which have really bad case numbers right now.

It's going to be a scary thing for the entire league with so much travel involved with their season. I have a feeling that the season will not go ahead at all.

Yeah best to call it wash and wait till next year.

Also, someone was saying the Jays should haze themselves out of Manchester, NH. They have a newly refurbished stadium with attached hotel which would make for a great home base that’s close to Toronto. Much better than Florida like I’ve heard they’re interested in.

For the best. And it's bad optics to allow ball teams to go back and forth across the border while it's practically shut for everyone else. MLB owners are all billionaires. If they can survive losing a season to a strike or lock-out they can survive losing one to an epidemic.

No kidding. The players should all have something in their savings accounts as well. Way more than any of us could even imagine.

The players and owners of any league aren't exactly the demographic that deserves too much sympathy in a "we're running low on cash!" situation. Be like feeling sorry for a lottery winner who wastes all the money on hookers and drugs and ends up on welfare three years later. :|

Florida is their training camp, Dunedin. Buffalo has been tossed around as that's where their Minor league team plays, but the stadium doesn't have the proper infrastructure for MLB games.

They'll likely still play, but just not here. They'll play out of a stadium in the U.S.

They cancelled the season earlier because there was too much Covid. Now that Covid is running rampant, it's OK to start the season? [huh]

Gotta wait till the virus is all concentrated and such. Then it’s safe to play....

MLS has done the same thing. They’re trying to do a league tournament in Orlando and before it began two teams pulled out due to positive Covid cases on their teams and due to safety concerns. The Whitecaps are there but six players stayed home because who i their right mind would go to Florida right now ?
