Ok, my nature compels me to point this out. If you are going to pull the tigers tail and run away (metaphorically) then why would you be surprised when you return the the tiger's lair and he rips your guts open?

One does not taunt authoritarian regimes, then go back to their sphere of influence willingly, and assume there will be no consequences.

Another Iranian-Canadian moron. They go back, knowing what conditions are like over there, then scream bloody murder the Canadian government should move heaven and earth to help them when they get in trouble. Maybe the freedom they enjoy here makes them forget what it's really like there, but jeez, just watch the news.

I'm curious if this guy was accepted as a 'refugee' into Canada after his educational visa expired.

There are lots of 'refugees' heading back to their places of birth that they supposedly fled for their lives for vacations, family visits and like in this case, employment opportunities.

"Canada believes that no one should be punished anywhere for simply exercising one's inherent right to freedom of expression". Maybe someone should tell that to the human rights commissions in this country.

Sorry, but he should have known better than to be fooling round like that INSIDE Iran.

Another plastic Canadian who cant leave the old country behind, and will now ask for our sympathy... and money for the appeal no doubt.

I have sympathy for the guy. He’s trying to help Iranians become free, it’s a noble mission. It just doesn’t really have too much to do with Canada.

It’s also a reoccurring theme these days. We have people, some who claim refugee status and jump to the front of the immigration queue, who are just not committed to Canada but easily get Canadian citizenship.
They then go back to their own country to work, live etc and when it goes for a shit, expect our help.

No loyalty but they demand ours.

I feel strongly about these things as an immigrant.

My loyalty is to Canada, I have one passport (Canadian) and my kids were born here.

Pass me a Molson......

R=UP

I empathize with the guy too, but I have no sympathy for paper Canadians who like to poke brutal dictators in the eye, and hide behind me when it goes badly.

And Sleeman's Honey Brown over here. Or Big Rock Warthog Ale. [B-o]

If I read the article correctly, he made the blog while still over here, then stupidly accepted an invitation from Amajewhater to work for a gov't agency in Iran. Real fuckin bright he is.
