Back when the Stanley Park Zoo had critters I don't recall having the desire to feed them but I do remember that I wanted to give Tuk, the polar bear, a hug because he always looked so sad and lonely...

Poor kid though. Hopefully that zoo takes the measures to ensure that that does not happen again.

Poor kid. Usually zoos have fences that keep people more than arm's length away from dangerous animals.
