FFS, the Current Administration just doesn't get it, does it? If they hadn't given arms and succour to the current crop of Islamist Crazies, Iraq likely wouldn't be the flavour of the month playground for radicalism and a march towards the middle ages. Yet, with all the damage they've done to actually stopping radicalism in the region with their pipe dreams of democracy and fraternity for all, they're going to blithely carry on arming people who, at some point will likely be turning their gifts on them and their allies in a bid to force their religious and political beliefs on the rest of the world. This may be Barry's crowning achievement when it comes to dumb foreign policy move's because, this will either set the whole region aflame in a sectarian civil war or allow the radicals to easily oust any opposition who might have kept them in check.

It's a proxy war, just like Korea and Vietnam were. The Russians are arming the other sides, so the US, Jordan and the Saudis have to do the same. Everybody loses.

That's the problem as you see it? Some small arms to some rebel groups caused the Sunnis of Iraq to rise up against the govt and win against a 1,000,000 man army?

Current administration? How about every American administration since WW2. The Americans don't have a stellar reputation when it comes to this kind of thing...remember some Republican's bright idea to arm and train Bin Laden? Arming the Contras? The Democrats going all in into Vietnam? All the proxy wars in Africa in the 50s, 60s and 70s?

How about minding their own fucking business and let the wogs to what they do best, kill each other, with sticks and stones if they must. If they pose an actual threat to the West, then you bomb the shit out of the roach nests from the sky and the sea.

The United States never trained or funded Bin Laden as he used his own funds to finance himself during the USSR occupation of Afghanistan. After that he roamed the Earth like Kane in KungFu until Saddam invaded Kuwait, Saudi Arabia was worried they were next so Bin Laden offered to defend the Kingdom based on his experince fighting the USSR in Afghanistan it was turned down for the United States offer his ego was bruised and his Jihad against the United States began. The cluster fuck Lybia has become after Gaddafi was toppled should have been a lesson to Obama regarding Syria but it apprently hasn't registered because he's obtuse or his advisors and National Security Team are that incompetent.

Seems to me the same people who are attacking Barry for arming radicals were the ones calling him a pussy for not himself attacking Syria. (admittedly drawing a redline and then not acting on it was pure idiocy.)

Let's see: Obama thinks that the people of Syria need to be armed to protect themselves but that Americans should be disarmed so they can't.
Right.

The red line was the biggest mistake he's probably made in regards to forgein policy because when he didn't back it up it sent the World the wrong message.

Right. When the illegal Mexican criminals who are currently crossing the borders start killing innocent Americans because they couldn't ptotect themselves, do the math.

While the US may have funnelled arms and money through the Saudis to Bin Laden and others fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan, the fact is the money came from the US originally. The US most certainly armed and trained the muhajadeen - they certainly didn't get Stingers and other heavy weaponry (and the training to use them) from the Saudi stockpiles. Some of those same muhajadeen did go on to join Al-Qaeda down the road. Other muhajadeen formed the Taliban, but don't let facts get in the way of your anti-Obama rant.

Actually Israel supplied a lot of the arms, the US paid for them.
