Ok and what's wrong?? You are very short winded in explaining this event to those us who are Non-Canadian and might like a taste of the history and significance?? We in the US have many senior CO's of many nationality and culture thru out the ranks.

It was all an extension of the 'Yellow Peril' that gripped WASPY North America and other Anglo nations. Australia maintained a strict anti Asian immigration policy right up until the 1970s

yes. My wife's maternal side were Jewish migrants from Germany. Mind you, they came prior to WW1, and eventually spent some time interred as enemy aliens because her Great grandfather had been a doctor in the German Army

An excellent read. I read the book decades ago. In the mid 80's time approx. Eye opening to say the least.

These events took place back in the days when "Negros" were not seen as suitable for combat roles (but were good enough to do heavy manual labour) in your own U.S. armed forces. My how you've changed as a country.

I know for sure I never really make any posts under the assumption that I'm to be teaching something to Non-Canadians... What a strange post...

Comes from a strange poster.

$1:
His appointment, he says, shows how much Canada has grown in the past century.

“There are scars on our history, but we can’t dwell on that past, and we can’t change it. We must learn from it,” he says.

“The best way to learn from it is to ask ourselves if we’ve made change … and we have made change. Me sitting here is that one greatest example of it.”

Excellent advice!
