Good idea, don't provide shelters or supportive housing, just put em up in overcroweded hospitals. That way they expensive paitients can't access the beds and the provicince saves money.

My what a grand freakin idea. Use the hospital beds to shelter the homeless then charge seniors who can ill afford it, $29.95 per day to stay in a recovery bed after surgery.

What kind of crap is this? If the Liberals hadn't shut down the mental institutes, cut social services and left all those people on the streets in the first place we would have had the Government paying for the homeless instead of the seniors.

Fucking typical Liberal Government bullshit.

Oh but to top it off I saw weasel breath Kevin Falcon on TV tonight claiming it was actually cheaper to keep a homeless drug addict in a hospital bed than to send him out on the streets.

Let's see.

Homeless in hospital = $1,000.00 per day of taxpayers money [B-o]
Homeless on street = $0.00 per day of taxpayers money

(All figues are approximate and quoted by some NDP MLA)

So I guess in Libspeak, it is cheaper to spend a grand on one homeless addict than to spend nothing on them.

Well it worked so well with the seniors, where they keep them in acute beds because there are no homes for them to go to, they thought they'd expand the program. I think the idea with the seniors is that in hospital they die way sooner than living in a proper care home, or heaven forbid in their own home with some decent supports in place. Those acute beds might be expensive, but if the seniors drop off sooner in the end it saves a bunch of money. If we fill the hospitals with enough people who don't need doctors or nurses, we can lay off all the medical staff, just hire a bunch of immigrants to clean up the mess and take out the bodies. Our taxes can be reduced even further, be the lowest in the world. Just make sure that if you do get sick you can afford to pay for it, or you know, just do the right thing for benefit of the rest of us.

You know whats scary.................you're probably right. After watching these assclowns gut our health care system for profit nothing would suprise me.

Prime example: the wife broke her ankle in three places a month ago, so off we went to ER. Well we had a 10 hour wait in ER till they could find her a bed, which was conviently found right after supper. So I inquired if they were going to feed her and the answer was a blunt, sorry the kitchen is closed so it's your problem.

Same routine the next day. No food you're scheduled for surgery at 0900, she never had surgery till 1900, I asked the nursing staff again about her getting fed again after surgery and got the same fucking answer, kitchens closed so it's your problem.

Fortunately she got out the next day, but your jokes about letting seniors die in the hospital is right on and if I and our daughter weren't around she'd have been at their mercy. With attitudes like some of the hospital staff have, it's no wonder they have those signs all over the hospital about abusive language, violence or hostile behaviour.

But I will say that the ER staff was excellent and it's just a shame the floor staff weren't anywhere near as well trained or helpful.

Well yeah, but I thought you were kinda a right winger - don't you believe in individual responsibility and all? You don't believe in that socialist medicine stuff, do you? I mean they're working on getting us to a US type system, they just have to fuck ours up bad enough that people will be calling for it. Give em time.

I am right wing for alot of things but Health Care isn't one of them and yes I do believe in individual responsiblity. But, if they're gonna put on that old socialist sham that everyone's equal, then they'd better put up or shut the fuck up and give everyone the same benefits of the system income and age not withstanding.

But, you're quite right about them trying to fuck our system up bad enough that a two tiered health care system will look great. That way alot of people who are "equal" will get to pay for their own health care and through their taxes others health care, while the other "equal" people will get it for nothing with faster delivery, which, while it looks good for the Government books will create the same scenario as the seniors are going through right now, where you just replace senior with low income earner.

It's a win win situation for both the Federal and Provincial Governments, less cost for health care and more tax monies comming in that can be used for crap it was never intended to be used for.

Either way someones gotta pay and it ain't gonna be that homeless drug addict sleeping in the $1,00.00 a day hospital bed.

Agreed. Methinks you're missing a 0 to the right of the decimal point there.

Let's see, hospital care under the Liberals. Well, I don't recall ever having to lay in a bed in a hallway or a storage closet while under the NDP. Nor have I ever recalled the total incompetence of the emergency staff who misdiagnosed a severe ear infection and placed me in a room where I was prepped to have my head opened up.
