I retired instead of accepting a permanent promotion to light bird and I refused an offer to return with a promotion to full bird because this political nonsense is so bad that I know I'd eventually be pulled into a meat grinder over it.

This video doesn't even begin to cover some of the insanity that goes on these days.

The military under Bush was pretty decent especially because there was a war on and the bullshit has to take a back seat to the mission during a war. Obama came in and didn't care that the BS was killing people. Unit cohesion is fracturing because guys have had their careers flushed due to some 'insensitive' thing they said or posted somewhere.

The US military in too many ways is starting to resemble the Soviet military except that the political officers have been replaced by people who fulfill the same role regardless of their rank and designation. These chekists make their careers by terrorizing enlisted, NCO, and officers alike in their zeal to make sure that only the proper thoughts and words are expressed.

I can only hope that the next President undoes this grievous damage that's been done to the military and that he or she focuses more on the mission than the bullshit leftist social engineering.
