I wonder what she'll call it after the Brits sink them? The General Belgrano II's have a nice ring to it. :P

Dumb bitch just can't leave well enough alone can she? Besides bankrupting the country she's gonna send them into another conflict with the Brits

Let's see. A highly trained and battle hardened military vs a group of draftees who likely don't want to fight for something that will make no difference in their lives.

Strangely enough I can see this ending pretty much the way it did in 82 with the only exception being that the Brits will get to sink newer ships and the Ghurkha's won't stop at Port Stanley.

It doesn't seem like a very intimidating vessel, and it doesn't appear that there will be very many of them. The new British attach subs and the Eurofighters should be able to make quick work of them.

I do find it some what disturbing considering China has started financing the digging of a new Canal in Nicaragua. Seems China is expanding its influence into the Central and S. American markets and Governments.

It looks like a destroyer to me.

Frankly it brings to mind Canadian destroyers with a vaguely familiar silhouette.

Might have the shape of an old destroyer, but it's way to small. I think calling it a corvette is an understatement, it's just barely a frigate.

What get's me is the manning requirements. Less than 100 to run it.

Sailing the sea is a contact sport. Waves, ice, the occasional rainbow warrior, all takes it's toll.

Because that hull isn't armored.

It's a stressed steel monocoque hull stretched over a frame and welded. The days of armour plating, riveted sheets is long gone.

Do remember that Fraser and all of her sister DDEs and DDH (except St. Laurent) were at sea for a good quarter century passed their designed lives and they all looked like waffles well before the end. These classes of ships were designed right after WWII as relatively cheap escorts that were capable of being made very quickly in time of impending war. They were state-of-the art an the 1950s.
