My guess is that this statement has less to do with Argentine Soccer than El Presidente's attempt to enhance her flagging popularity by showing that the National Team shares her deluded sentiments on the Falklands, especially since she's discovering that you can only go so far on good looks before a continual blonde moment occurs, even if you're a brunette.

It's all the same shit - guys looking for status, whether it's fighting with a supporter of a different team from across town to fighting with the military of another nation. All tribal shit that seems very deep seated. Within the tribe you want to be head honcho, with another tribe you don't want them accessing resources that you want to hoard. It's certainly not just international sport that brings this out.
