I guess the Argies didnt learn from getting their asses kicked last time.

But I wonder if the Brits have the stomach for another go.

I doubt it. Didn't they just cut their navy way back to be able to buy a couple of aircraft carriers for which they have no planes? Apparently the British navy is now the size of Italy's. Oh, the humanity!

Not likely. The Royal Navy is being cut back to only 25 active duty ships soon.

Until the cuts happen the RN, RAF and British Army will have an active presence capable of maintaining a viable deterrent to Argentina's aggression.
I’m sure the Admiralty are already pressing the point in light of this new round of Argie sabre rattling.

The Falklands is just too strategic a spot for the Brits.

The island can be quickly reinforced with 3 battalions on 24hr deployment readiness at any time.

Obviously it will take the Fisheads a bit longer to get there with their grey boats with guns but the RAF has a Typhoon flight down there permanently. The RAF presence can be reforced very quickly and the island bristles with AAM and AAA.

There are 3 warships on station plus a sub (the Argies don't like subs) as well as the garrison.

Don't believe all that you read in the papers.

The Argies did in 1982 when the Brits didn't have the expeditionary capability that has been honed post Falklands/Sierra Leone/Iraq/Afghanistan.

It didn't work out too well for them.

I don't think the question is whether or not the Brits are up for it, but are the Argentinians.

To that I would have to say no. de Krichner can bitch on Twitter all she wants, but i doubt she (or anyone in Argentina for that matter) is up for a fight against the UK on anything other than a soccer field.

Proculation Proculation:
Get back Margaret !!!

She was good until, she went a bit nutty with the Poll Tax.

The Argies are just looking to distract their citizens from the shit state Argentina is in.

The Falklands have never been a part of Argentina and as long as the sheep-shaggers who live there want to stay British, the UK will defend them.

The abundant fish stocks, huge oil reserves and dibs on the Antarctic have nothing to do with the Brits being down there.

It's all to do with the Islanders want to remain British. Honest.

Blame Obama and Hillary Clinton for this! If it weren't for those two asshats opening up the Falklands issue again and basically giving their blessing to Argentina to invade this would not be happening.

Hopefully this will encourage England to maintain her strenght at sea and on land.
Unlike here.
The Clintons hated our military and destroyed our standing Army. Now we have to let Reserves and National Guard serve combat turn after combat term.

Someone here said bring back Margret Thatcher. Agree.
