I don't get this, you got Al Quada who frequently targets Shiite mosques and whos the enemy of Al Quada? The United States, yet hes a anti-US person and cannot wait for it's withdrawl. If I was a Iraqi Shiite dealing with some fucktart terrorists, I would get all the help I could get as obviously if the U.S. leaves, these extremists are not just going to go. Oh well, let's just give up our place of power over the country and fuck off. It's a power struggle for organizations like Al Quada and the Taliban.

The moral of the story is that nobody likes being ruled by a foreign power in their own country and Iraq didn't have an Al Qaeda problem until the US invaded anyway, so the locals don't see the US as some saviour or solution to their problems.

Complicating the matter is that neighbouring Iran is a Shiite country with ties to the local Shiite community in Iraq. The US doesn't like Iran, so it overmanages affairs in Iraq so that the Shiite majority doesn't develop deeper ties with Iran.

Its a quagmire for sure, the US should just develop an exit strategy and leave those people to sort out their own relations.
