Just an aside but today is the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the Berlin Airlift, when the US under an enlightened president stuck their thumb right in the eye of a horrible tyranny and risked igniting another war just to save people, former German enemies at that, who were being starved to death as a tactic by Stalin to drive the Western powers out of Berlin.
That was the United States at it's very best, which is something we will probably never see again, certainly not in our lifetimes. All that is true now is that seventy years later, after that golden moment, we're now seeing America and too many Americans, the current president foremost among them in sheer awfulness, at their absolute very worst.
