Sounds like battling parents given that the dad was apparently killed. Pedophiles doing a grab-and-run usually don't go that far, especially if there's a potential for them to be confronted by another adult male. Mom and her boyfriend crossing the line maybe? All that matters now is that the little girl is recovered OK.

Body of father of the child has been found inside the home in Blanchette from which girl was abducted, and is being investigated as a homicide.

That little detail told me 'construction site'. It reminds me of flags that every vehicle has to have while working around large equipment so that the operator can see the smaller vehicle. And 'white' is pretty standard on construction sites. I'd be looking for a panel van, Ford Transit or Chrysler/Mercedes Sprinter.

We got this alert through email, and I got it on my cell phone too, not to mention all the electronic road signs in the city. Amber alerts are evolving well!

My thoughts also, yea see those vans just 20 minute away around Sparwood/Elkford in the coal mines of south east BC
