I never condone threats of violence against anyone, but most of these comments I have heard about Notley for example, have been rude but not threatening. I know she has received threats like most politicians do; I think it's time to put on some grown up pants and stop being a 'women' and complaining all the time.
Guess what..you are making some huge unpopular decisions. Don't act surprised that your policy's are going over like a lead balloon!

men get equal abuse, this isn't purely a women thing, they just like to complain about it more.

DrCaleb DrCaleb: It's perfectly normal to heap abuse on women in politics. They should just grow a thicker skin, amirite? current-events-f59/sorry-for-what-golf-tournament-organizer-unapologetic-t116430.htmlYes Caleb, you are right. If you can't handle the abuse that comes with politics, you shouldn't be in it, regardless of whether you are a man or woman. The only thing the organised should be apologetic for is that there wasn't also a target to aim for with Trudeau's face on it. $5000 prize to the first guy to hit 2 birds with 1 stone.

$1: The Alberta Federation of Labour says the RCMP should actively pursue investigations into the “ugly and dangerous rhetoric” that is being directed at women in politics. Unless it's Sarah Palin or any other conservative woman in politics and then of course it's okay to call her names and make death threats at her. Yup.

We all know men in politics get threatened with rapes and beatings all the time! It's perfectly fine for Senators to sexually harass MP's, what's Mrs. Palin worried about? In case anyone didn't catch it, I've turned the sarcasm up to eleven.

No. There should be no abuse, just because you decide to enter politics instead of medicine, or engineering. People should be treated like people, not animals.

Your fellow righties in this thread seem to suggest she just grow a pair. I mean being threatened with rape, what's the big deal?

/s as you know. But I think I can pick up sarcasm pretty well, it's more the way you word things that I often find not that clear.

I wanted to avoid that tag to see if anyone here actually felt it was in poor taste to abuse women, just because they choose to be a politician in a party that they don't like. I don't recall Allison Redford or Anne McLelland having to put up with their pictures being symbolically shot at on a golf course, or threatened with rape on Twitter and Facebook.
