I agree. Alberta had the first Mosque in North American almost 100 years ago.

What Mosque what that be? The Al-Rashid in Edmonton built in 1938? I see several Mosques in the U.S. built before that. The oldest Mosque built specifically as a Mosque in North America (that I can find) is the one built in Ross North Dakota in 1929. The Mothers Mosque of America was built in Cedar Rapids Iowa in 1934. That Mosque is still standing today making it the oldest still standing purpose built Mosque in the U.S. There were Mosques in the U.S. in the 1800's but they were mainly buildings that were built for other purposes, and later used as a Mosque.
No, you are right. I had the dates reversed in my brain - I though the Al Rashid was built in 1929.
Either way, it's been a long time coming.
