uwish uwish:
well, see Albertans had unprotected voting and ended up getting NDP.
In all seriousness people here are very tired and hearing the same thing over and over and yet, nothing has changed. Granted, I also wanted change, but I think most suspected that change would have been Wildrose, not a socialst economy killer.
Well, we get what we voted for...lets hope that the other NDP provinces do not prove any trends in this line of governments. All i know now is, my taxes just went up 5% off my GROSS and does anyone remember when the AB government tried to monkey with the royalty tax system last time?? anyone???
Look what happened this AM, oil is up, dollar is up but TSX is down 3 digits...business does not NDP governments and rightfully so, since most business die under NDP governments Just ask Ont, Man, BC, Sk if you don't believe me.
I foresee dark days ahead, very dark days.
As someone who who lobbied on here for change, even I didn't think we'd get this much.

I was expecting at best a PC minority government - shows what I know.
I'm not too worried because the NDP can only screw up so much in four years and we can change it again in 4 years if they do.
Doug Horner said it best on CTV last night, the reason the PCs lost was that they moved too far from the centre and lost the progressive side of their conservatism.
That's why I doubt the Wildrose will ever form our government, unless it's a minority one. Sure people hate paying taxes, but most people also recognize that it's a necessary evil if you want hospitals, schools and roads. Jean's "I won't raise your taxes" message fell flat in cities and because of that, once again they were shut out of both major cities.
Smith was both right and wrong for crossing the floor. Morally is was wrong, but this election proves she was correct that the Wildrose Party isn't centrist enough to win in cities (and therefore form a government).
