Trump won the presidency in large part by appealing to disaffected Americans, including many across the Midwest who have lost good-paying manufacturing jobs and have been marginalized in the workforce. The Republican threatened to scrap NAFTA if Canada and Mexico do not come to the negotiating table....

Trumka and House Democrats also boasted that they have essentially defeated the Obama administration-driven Trans Pacific Partnership pact and called for Trump to put an official end to the deal, along with reworking NAFTA with Canada and Mexico in his first 100 days in office.

Good luck! Once NAFTA is torn or revamped the dominoes will start to fall in Ontario and then work their way West.

McGuinty toppled the first domino, they've been falling ever since.

The security apparatus lined up the dominoes nicely for just such a leader as Trump to strike down. From coast to coast we've used covert operatives at work and within government to harm American businesses and self determination. Now we believe that somehow America should be nice to us "just because". It astounding to listen to people on CBC and elsewhere who are either naive or arrogant, as usual.

For instance, one guy was on CBC who works in the Auto industry as a media contributor, says it is embarrassing to see GM give in to Trump and remain in the U.S rather than going ahead with their move to Mexico. He said it is "setting a dangerous precedent". I wonder if he had the same opinion when Canadians bailed out the auto industry in 2009. I suppose that was a "good precedent".

Situations change, especially when so many have abused America for so long. It's time to pay the Piper now.
