So the judges get upset by a perceived failing by provincial governments,
but the public gets to pay for it by turning criminals out early, and especially early just because they are Native... just brilliant.
$1: To the extent that the application of the Gladue principles lead to different sanctions for aboriginal offenders
This is how you define racism, brought to you from our own judicial system.

$1: Judges enraged by inadequate access to native sentencing services — despite an edict from the Supreme Court of Canada requiring it — have been reducing prison terms for serious aboriginal offenders in response, recent court decisions reveal. Sooooo because the judges are having a hissy fit, they find it necessary to put the public at risk. Yep, that'll teach us...wait, why is this the public's fault again?

Brenda Brenda: EyeBrock EyeBrock: Cops bad, criminals good. Says who? Our political leadership. Cops in the G20 are nailed and hard for their actions irrespective of any mitigating circumstances while natives are given the proverbial by irrespective of any aggravating circumstances.

$1: Compliance with the law should not depend on what jurisdiction the case is being heard in, she declared. Nor should it depend on who your ancestors were, yet here we are believing because a relative in your distant past may or may have not been screwed over that it somehow excuses you to commit rape.

Or say that criminals are good. All that is said, is that a government department is messing up and that judges are fed up. They still have to stick to giving the minimum sentence, so I don't necessarily see the difference with any other case, since imho, all judges do lately is give out minimum sentences. Again, my opinion.

And more absurdly, though not as heinous, an excuse to smuggle heroin into the country.

That's pure, unadulterated bullshit right there!
