And tea drinkers like myself are no better off. Many teas have become quite bland as the climate warms and there are more droughts where tea is normally grown.

Im going to miss my morning coffee. Oh well. It’s only affordable in the first place because it’s grown by peasants performing back-breaking labour in third world dictatorships so I guess I should just get used to going without it.

"could be" is the functional term here. It's just another piece of shit reporting from journalists who don't know how to report actual news.

What? You don't think A "Coffee Market Report" from the "International Coffee Organization" is on the up-and-up? ;)

CTV News is another news organization sliding down the Clickbait hole.

Two things:

1. If demand for coffee outpaces production then prices will rise and tropical farmers will plant more coffee and make more money.

2. If true, then global warming should eventually make it possible to grow coffee in Edmonton.

No, that isn't how coffee farming works. If demand outpaces production, the farmer will have to plant on park lands or in private spaces in order to increase production, or the gang that controls the farmers in his area will shoot his family.

He won't make any more money, no matter what he does.

Low coffee prices are starving farmers. Can a cartel fix it?
