My sympathies go out to the families of the deceased and the injured workers. Hopefully the two survivors will pull through.
As for the killer. Well since we can't execute him anymore, hopefully they'll put away for the remainder of his sick fucking life so he can't ever do anything like this again.
But everytime I see an RCMP spokesman saying something like this or "the victim was known to police" it makes me wonder if they actually pay any attention to the world outside their detachments.
Extreme violence 'extremely rare,' RCMP says

Workplace violence seems to be on the upswing, even as legislation to curb it is brought in. Stress is literally killing the wage earning population. You have to wonder about the internal culture of this company.

Because people don't usually go on rampages with shotguns against fellow employees (hunting down a VP) in well managed workplaces.
Do you work for a living?

Do you work for a living? Don't be an idiot again. Disagreeing with you doesn't mean that that they are taking an opposite position. It likely means you just said something stupid and it's being pointed out. Some fucking lunatic going on a killing binge does not automatically equate into mismanaged workplaces. Following your fucked up logic in your snotty question, you must therefore support the killing of fellow employees when you get pissed off at work. Idiot.

Do you work for a living? Hold on here Bucky. Crazy people with an axe to grind certainly do. We had a case in Vancouver of a small business, with the guy who got fired coming back to exact revenge. By all accounts he was a loon and deserved to get fired, while the owner was a really good guy. If you've worked for a living you know there are people out there who just can't make it in the workplace and are way off base. WFP would be in a position of help a person like that with counseling, a small business not so much. But counseling mostly isn't effective, these are people with deep seated problems. Don't know if that's the case here, but to automatically assume that the workplace is at fault is over the top. When you have interns dying of heart failure from overwork, you know it's the workplace. This certainly isn't that clear.

Yeah, I'm an idiot who is responsible for the functioning of a similar industrial workplace. Violence like this usually has a long genesis and that his guy singled out a senior manager for his attack tells me that everything was not exactly peachy in this place. I have to deal with troubled employees in the real world. How about you, Chief?

Yeah it must be a poisonous workplace because you say it is, based on your experience running a similar operation on the other side of the country. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. We'll find out in due course, and yes, you're an idiot.

Sounds more like a disgruntled ex-employee.

If he was running the show this would never have happened.

Do you work for a living? 'Work' is for suckers! I get my $$$ by lying, cheating, stealing, pimping, selling drugs in school yards, conning the elderly, fencing stolen goods, passing bad cheques & forging money orders, importing 'tobacco' products etc. Ain't much I won't do to make an honest buck. Pay is good and the hours are great!

That being said, just like your conclusion that disagreeing with your stance on kiddie porn must make me a pedo, I see disagreeing with your stance on work place violence must mean Yogi is unemployed. Be a stunned cute on your own time.

After working steady for 40+ years, most of that as self employed/supervisory I got injured on the job to the point that I have a '0 lifting limit' with no medical prospect of this improving at least until a surgeon says otherwise. My ins co wants me to retire, but I have registered for computer upgrading as of May 26 in preparation for return to work at sometime in the future.
