Well it's not that good, you have to factor in the cost overrun of 100-200 million,
and the $300 million will get 'lost' doing the paperwork.

But some Ontario chumps who also love the $50billion gas theft think this is a good idea.

What is the lifetime of the equipment? To know if it's of value, you have to know how long these people will be employed. Is 50 years enough for that 1.2 Million? Will wages, taxes, profit on the power produced cover the cost?

Plus, it's 1000 direct and non-spinoff jobs, when we need jobs.

Government paid for or sponsored jobs are just not jobs.
It simply more tax payer money being shoveled around.

Imagine, spending government money, to give to a worker, so to deduct some of
that government money, to give back to the government, to make it look like
someone has a job.

Nice levels of circular stupidity, with the taxpayer picking up the bill.

Most of the projects are wind power. Alberta is a crappy place to set up solar farms. But the calculation is still true. Companies don't enter into projects like this unless they generate profit.

And Alberta did the opposite of Ontario, we had a power auction about a year ago, and the winners were mostly renewable companies whos' price drove the price per kilowatt down.

Government programs with government subsidies.... don't work.

They don't work because they distort the market.

If the companies only show up when the government hands out the money,

it's because they can't do it with prices in the marketplace now.

And it will never result in a lower price for the people.
