TORONTO -- It may not be "one hundred 'beeee-llion' dollars," but it's sure to please Dr. Evil.

Comedian Mike Myers, star of Wayne's World, Austin Powers and Saturday Night Live, will have a street named after him in his hometown of Scarborough, Ont. -- the town that provided inspiration for many of his memorable SNL characters.

City councillors voted unanimously Tuesday to honour the Canadian funnyman, who's presently in California shooting a big-screen adaptation of the Dr. Seuss classic The Cat In The Hat. The proposed name at this point is Mike Myers Drive.

"When I first heard I'd have a street named after me, I was thrilled. Scarborough has helped to shape who I am, and I took it as a great honour," Myers said in a statement.

"Then I was told it doesn't mean I actually own the street. So even though I can't levy taxes or start my own army, it's still pretty cool."

Coun. Lorenzo Berardinetti says it's possible Myers will take some time off from filming to attend an unveiling ceremony for the street, which is located in the new Lawrence Village townhouse complex near the intersection of Lawrence and Kennedy.

Myers was honoured Stateside earlier this year with a star on Hollywood's Walk Of Fame.
