Even though my politics fall mostly left of center. In municipal matters, I almost always vote for a right leaning candidate. At the end of the day, I don't really see Toronto's Municipal issues as Right/Left issues. Transit, garbage collection, Hydro, road maintenance, policing, fire and emergency services, for me all of these issues are better addressed by a fiscal conservative. It doesn't really impact any of the social safety nets that are in place and I guess I have more trouble seeing eye to eye with social conservatives than fiscal conservatives.
That being said, I pray rob Ford doesn't get back in, he is just such a hindrance to discourse at city hall. I'll be voting for Tory, I like his policies and more-so for the point he just made with regards to Garbage collection in the posted video.
All of these left leaning candidates become so handcuffed by Big unions that they are unable to negotiate when it comes to collective bargaining agreements. David Miller made this very clear with the garbage strikes and the wildcat ttc strikes in 2006 and 2008. Electing the left municipally just ends up giving too much leverage to the unions and ends up costing the city millions.

Wanna a sample of Chairman Chow "winning" the debate?
She kept making false accusations about funding cuts when multiple times she was corrected by Ford and Tory.
The video above shows how much of an idiot the woman is.
Anyone that knows anything about Toronto politics beyond the anti-Ford crowd knows that she was talking out her ass last night.

So what--Ford is an intellectual giant?
What it boils down to is this...

Compared to the way Chow came off? Sadly, yes.
If this is the best they've got it certainly doesn't bode well for the people of Toronto.
It is to laugh. Unfortunately, it's that laugh everyone does when they'd rather cry.

So many of them still like Ford that whatever the people of Toronto get is what they deserve.

That ain't a Chow win.
