I don't think he was being tried for boinking this girl although that's what was on the court docket. They wanted to get the prick for anything they could and this was the ideal charge to bring him down.

Wow, a government official actually getting sentenced... Damn near on par with the Ogopogo as far as myths are concerned.

I'm sure he'll go to prison but I'm also equally sure that his jail cell will look somewhere along the lines of this:

Far too few politicians and bankers hanging around with drug addicts and thieves, which is unfortunate since they are so often interchangeable...

Curious, how old was this girl when she was supposedly 'underage'? I'm not finding that anywhere.

I thought it was 17, that's the number I heard when this was made as an allegation.

Edit: Article says the bunga-bunga parties happened in 2010, and the girl is 20 now. So she was 17.

Guess his next bunga-bunga party will involve a lot more bung.

We're well aware it's all a political prosecution. Probably one of the few times any Italian male has ever been prosecuted for being with an underage "victim". If Silvio hadn't created such a long track record of being a knob in public, and hopelessly corrupt even by Italian standards, they might have let this one go too. Obviously the chance to nail him for something, this or for fixing soccer matches, was too tempting for his enemies to ignore.
