Bee Movie Review

Jerry Seinfeld stars as Barry B. Benson, a bee who has just graduated from school (a grueling 2 days of elementary, 3 days of junior high and 3 days of high school) and is shocked to find that once he finishes and goes to work, it’ll be in one job for the rest of his life. So he plans to explore life outside the hive with the pollen jocks, the elite handful of bees who get to go outside the hive and see the world. He quickly finds he is absolutely not interested in producing honey for the rest of his life, but wants adventure and excitement.

 

Bee Movie doesn’t bring anything new to the world of film, and given its ‘G’ rating, most jokes are pretty tame (no ‘Contests’ here). The world portrayed inside the hive is quite humourous, and the movie will be very popular with the family crowd.  The first half of the movie is quite good, but slips when Barry decides to sue mankind for stealing honey from bees.
