Again, gang shootings occur everywhere, not just in Delwin's neighborhood. And, as I said, the neighborhood itself is quite middle class, with pockets of poverty where the gangsters live. Delwin avoids those, so his odds go way up. OTOH, gangsters, as we've seen, have a propensity to shoot at each other all over the city, so better avoid any city with gangsters all together. Then just fret over the much higher odds or probability of being killed by somebody you know. Or a drunk driver. etc. You're buying into the hype of the media.

Yup. In Vegreville, they've been having trouble with those Hutterite gangs in the alley out behind the coffee shop dealing black market cow manure. I read about it all the time!
