The Metis Flag which represents infinity was also carried by the Canadian Corps of Voyageur in 1812 the symbol for infinity looks like a figure eight laying
horizontal. :)

Love it! People forget that the Shawnee and the Mohawks were our allies, and had been so for decades.

I'm looking forward to the of War of 1812 going mainstream. Such an interesting period in our history.

It's been a good 200 year run, but now that the flag flies again, perhaps it's time to load up on Schnapps and finish this thing?

Yes it's a typically flown flag along with the Union Jack on the freighter canoes at Old Fort William historical park which depicts this time peiod.
The flags where also flown on board the NWC ships at Fort William like the schooners Canadian Fur Trader & Canadian Perserverence.
The company also owned many smaller sloops which where named after fur bearing animals like the beaver,otter,mink,etc...
The first ship yard built on Lake Superior was Point Aux Pins at Sault Ste Marie, Ontario in 1735 the voyageurs also built the first locks as well.
I think both where destroyed by the Michigan Fensibles during the War of 1812
I find Canadian history facinating there is a lot more too Canada than people think! :)

Also those are both interesting flags. Help a yank vexillophile out. What are some other interesting Canadian regimental or naval flags. Never really been into that part of the flag cosmos.

Some people in Quebec still remember 1759 so...

Etienne Brule carried the Fleur De Lis with him on his voyages of Lake Superior 1619-23 when he described the shores of Lake Superior & the Ojibway minning copper @ Mc Cargo Cove on Isle Royale.
Captain Robert Mc Cargo narrowly escaped American warships with HMS Recovery on Lake Superior during the War of 1812 at this location.
The Fleur De Lis also flew @ Fort Camanistigoyan built by the French soldier Daniel Greysolon Sieur du Lhut in 1685 & latter @ Fort Kaministiquia 1717 in New France till 1759 or so... :)
