Boxing will never die. As someone who has been watching boxing for years, and getting more and more interested as time passes, I find it more pleasurable than MMA, and here's why:
1. Fight length. MMA fights can be too short. Exciting, yes of course. But too short. Boxing is more about strategy, and a 12-round fight (heavyweights) can be as exciting as a fight where one boxer gets knocked out in the first couple of rounds.
2. Conduct. In boxing, once a boxer is knocked down or knocked out, the other guy can't keep throwing shots and whatnot. I don't like the fact that in MMA, people can keep getting pummeled while down. It's a little excessive from my point of view.
3. Affordability. I can go get tickets for a decent fight (and have several times) for $50-$100. And we're talking decent seats as well. MMA ticket prices get a little insane.
Those are my three main points about the MMA vs. Boxing thing.
And remember, "Boxing is the sweet science..."
