An admirable attempt to ensure nobody fucks with out elections but, they're spending to much time and effort on thwarting Russia and China and not enough to thwart the assholes living in Canada who have seen and carried out fake news stories to ensure the parties they oppose are vilified through outright lies.

But what I found hilarious is this Governments claim that there was no political interference during the last election. ROTFL

I wonder if they'd be making that claim if a certain Mr. Trudeau had lost the last election.

But. this will be an utter waste of time if they don't shut down Twitter and Facebook who are notorious for allowing political machinations during elections.

And just to refute the line of bullshit the Liberals are feeding us, again.

$1:
Foreign money funelled towards Canadian political advocacy groups affected the outcome of the 2015 federal election, according to a document filed last week with Elections Canada and obtained exclusively by the Herald.

https://calgaryherald.com/news/national ... l-election

Yup, no foreign interference in the Liberals win. I guess the Liberals either have very short memories or, very selective ones.

Oh wait, Maryam Monsef.

I'm as confident that the Liberals will take this issue as seriously as they already do with left-wing American charities backed by billionaires & the Hollywood elite drowning Canadian "activists" with money in order to sabotage Canadian industries from inside the country. As in nothing at all will be done to stop it.

Nothing new. Just politics. Do what you can to favour yourselves while at the same time harming your opponents, even if you have to re-write the law to do it. It's all as old as the hills themselves.

Yeah right. Trudeau's win had SFA to do with people sick of Harper, nor the fact he let loose his uber morons like the ones inhabiting this forum to spew hate and fear unchecked.
Of course it's possible for voters as a whole to have a collective brainfart like the Yanks did in 2016, but it hasn't happened yet.

Corporations have recenue streams all over the world if they can fund ads why can’t ithr groups with international sources?

You think the oil companies and lobby groups like Canada Petroleum Producers bombarding us with Oilsands commercials day and night get 100% of the revenue in country? Some of that comes from international industry groups.

And neither of the can be equated with interference campaigns controlled and operated by foreign governments. You really can’t tell the difference????

Don't try to act as if this isn't known, there's $600,000,000 floating around for those that are willing to suck up the dear leaders party, and that also does not include the Canadian Bullshit Corporation.

Boy as usual that’s quite the distortion!

So in November the government announced that AFTER THE NEXT BUDGET there would be tax credits available. After the next budget means there’s currently no “money floating around” and tax incentives also aren’t “money floating around”

Also it’s a tax credit meaning you automatically getut if touur tax return qualifies It is not conditional upon writing flattering coverage of the government nor selectively doled out by politicians to specific outlets it’s like any other tax credit, your right wing rags like the Sun will get it too.

Stop wasting my time with your fake news distortions.

Okay got it.

Rich foreigners who support liberals good. Evil corporations who support Conservatives bad.

But a question. Why does the Canada Elections Act say:

$1:
“No person who does not reside in Canada shall, during an election period, in any way induce electors to vote or refrain from voting or vote or refrain from voting for a particular candidate” unless the person is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.

Because they unlike you, don't differentiate between a foreign gov't and a foreign person so logic would dictate that any foreign interference be it by a gov't or individual is ILLEGAL.

And why would they be so obtuse as to make this claim:

“Electoral outcomes were influenced,” alleges the report"

So to answer your first question. Yes I know the difference but when it comes to "foreign interference" it's irrelevant.
