martin14 martin14:
18.40 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has told French Jews that Israel 'is their home' after 17 people were killed there during three days of Islamist attacks.

"To all the Jews of France, all the Jews of Europe, I would like to say that Israel is not just the place in whose direction you pray, the state of Israel is your home," he said in a televised statement, referring to the Jewish practice of facing Jerusalem during prayer.

Wow.

At least they have a place to go this time.

Very much the point of establishing the State of Israel by those Holocaust survivors back in 1948.

"Never again" means just that.

Al Jazeera is having it's broadcaster's issue an "I'm not Charlie" message.

At times the message sounds a bit like those death threats one sees on twitter all the time. Basically..."You better watch your mouth, or somebody - not me, mind you - is going to shut it permantly.

More specifically...

"“I guess if you insult 1.5 billion people chances are one or two of them will kill you,” wrote Mohamed Vall Salem, who reported for Al Jazeera’s Arab-language channel before joining its English wing in 2006. “And I guess if you encourage people to go on insulting 1.5 billion people about their most sacred icons then you just want more killings because as I said in 1.5 billion there will remain some fools who don’t abide by the laws or know about free speech.” [sic]"

Hezbollah Chief: Extremists Harm Islam More Than Cartoons
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESSJAN. 9, 2015, 10:21 A.M. E.S.T.

BEIRUT — The leader of the Lebanese Hezbollah group says Islamic extremists have insulted Islam and the Prophet Muhammad more than those who published satirical cartoons mocking the religion.

Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah did not directly mention the Paris attack on the offices of Charlie Hebdo that left 12 people dead, but he said Islamic extremists who behead and slaughter people — a reference to the IS group's rampages in Iraq and Syria — have done more harm to Islam than anyone else in history.

Nasrallah spoke Friday via video link to supporters gathered in southern Beirut.

Nasrallah's Shiite group is fighting in Syria alongside President Bashar Assad.

His remarks are in stark contrast to those of Sunni militants from the IS group and al-Qaida who have called for attacks on Western countries.

Schindler Didn’t Disprove Nazi Anti-Semitism, Lassana Bathily Doesn’t Disprove Islamic Anti-Semitism

By Daniel Greenfield

"Oskar Schindler was a member of the Nazi Party who saved over a thousand Jews. He wasn’t the only one. Major Karl Plagge, an early Nazi Party member, never subscribed to its racial theories and worked to save Jews. So was Georg Ferdinand Duckwitz, whose information helped save the lives of many of Denmark’s Jews.

There were in fact a number of members of the Nazi Party who saved Jews. They were however vastly outnumbered by the number of Nazis who killed Jews.

Citing Schindler or Plagge, who liked much of the Nazi agenda, but didn’t like the killing Jews part of it, does not make Nazism good. It doesn’t disprove the existence of genocidal Nazi anti-Semitism.

It shows that people are individuals and that the members of any ideology include people who are good and who will even take heroic risks despite otherwise subscribing to a thoroughly evil ideology.

In other words, people are complicated.

If Lassana Bathily, the Muslim worker who reportedly saved a number of Jews during the Muslim attack on a Kosher supermarket, did everything he reportedly did, then he’s a hero.

He’s a hero just like Schindler or Plagge were heroes. It doesn’t mean that a genocidal Islamic anti-Semitism that has been killing Jews for over a thousand years no longer exists.

It doesn’t mean that Islam isn’t inherently anti-Semitic. There is no question that it is.

The reason we respect people like Schindler is not just because they were heroes, but because they defied their society and culture to do the right thing.

Their actions are the work of individuals. It doesn’t wipe away the fact that there are far more Muslims engaged in killing Jews or who support the killing of Jews than there are Lassana Bathilys.

Ignoring that simple fact is ignoring reality. It would be insulting to Schindler’s heroism and to the victims of the Holocaust to act as if his efforts disproved Nazi anti-Semitism. It is likewise insulting to act as if the actions of one Muslim disprove the reality of the Muslim mass murder of Jews.

If Islam really were a Religion of Peace, then a Muslim saving Jews would not be an extraordinary newsworthy event. Instead the media is using Bathilys’ story to silence the fact that Jews in France are subject to Muslim massacres on a regular basis.

And that’s as bad as using Schindler’s story to whitewash Nazism and pretend the Holocaust never happened."

This, from the organization that lobs rockets, uses suicide bombers, and is trying
to take over Lebanon for their own ends; namely, the genocide of Israel.

Honestly, xerxes, where do you dig this shit up ?

Well if you click the link I provided you see it comes from the New York Times by way of the Associated Press which are two sources infinitely more reputable than the usual right-wing sewers N-Dog posts from.

That's why I posted this. I thought it enormously ironic that the leader of Hezbollah, who's guilty of all the things you said, says that the attackers in Paris do Islam a disservice when he does so much by himself and through his organisation.

In any case, it's not ironic. It's expected. The Charlie Hebdo guys were ISIS, as in Sunni. Nazrallah is Shia. ISIS blew up a Lebanese cafe just this weekend. Hezbollah doesn't like ISIS. They want to kill each other.

So question...if your laughable lefties at the fishwrap of record have so much superior information how is it I know stuff like that, and you don't?

This just an extension of the conflict between the Saudi Sunnis and the Iranian Shias. No love lost between those two.

Not this time.

Slowly, slowly.
