Wow, this is huge. When a country can export more lumber on a boat crossing the Pacific Ocean than a country next door using wood trucks to cross a border a couple of miles away , that is quite a statement! Good for B.C.! Business is business. You always need new customers to stay in business, and grow your business. Very sad for the construction industry in my country. Stories like this need to be front page news in my country to stir us from our malaise, if its not too late.

One reason they are exporting more to China, relatively speaking, is because US demand isn't very strong. And there seem to be storm clouds on the horizon for China as well, so this may not last. Just the usual boom and bust cycle of the BC forest industry. Still, it's good to at least be making some inroads to new markets.
