Please do me a favor and don't ever refer to South park as a moral show. I'm sorry but a show of a whole bunch of 12 year old boys swearing up the yang mixed with (based on the episodes I've seen) pedophilia, sex change operations, the devil having a homosexual lover that abuses him, and other such nonsense has anything at all to do with being a better person. The show is not moral in the slightest and should not be seen by kids at all. yet they present all this in a kid cartoon format. I would rather they not think anything being presented in the south park format qualifies as mortality. It's just a sick show that many of the very people making the show have had to walk away from due to their own conscience. edit: I grant this is a rant but there is no single show that is on the air or has ever been on the air that I have a greater dislike for.

While the cartoon likely wasn't racist in intent, it can be played as such, by those with an agenda .....ahem... Sharpton.

CanadianJeff: Don't watch Family Guy much do ya? That one is just as offensive except without the moral judgement.
Never the less, I can respect you're opinion.

I would suggest that most racist things are not intentionally racist. It doesn't necessarily mean there's a "Sharpton Agenda". But that's the problem. When you employ stereotypes or make light of cultural mores/idiosychroses, you're likely gonna piss someone off....even if your intent was a good-hearted jab. Like I said on another thread, as a Scottish-Canadian, it pisses me off that Wrigley Chewing gum can make an animated character with a fake Scottish accent without considering how Scottish people feel about having their speech mimicked for comedy. Intent isn't all that matters. How the minority perceives it is the real test of whether it's offensive.

hmmh likely a another MacDonald sheep shagger. Sharpton always has an agenda, usually keeping Sharpton in the spotlight. If there isn't an issue he usually fabricates one. Too many people out there are too in touch with their feminine side.

His appearance at the trial of Nathanial Abraham was all for press and not at all for Civil Rights..."We will form a chain of justice around the courtroom in Pontiac, Michigan today".

I see the comment being that this economic stimulus package is something so ridiculous, that a chimp threw it together, not as a reflection on half of Obama's heritage.

Do black people think of themselves as monkey's? If not, why is it racist? Because of the white man? Was it even a white man who drew the cartoon? and yes, George Bush was characterized as a monkey because...well, his face looked like a monkey but hey, I don't see white groups denouncing it as racist. In anycase, it is a dumb cartoon and apparently Americans can't draw cartoons with political satires in good taste. I see Canadian ones and some I don't get but others I bust out laughing. Elect a minority as a top figure, you play with fire. Perfect shield for Obama, now he can't be criticized without apparent racist overtones.... Getting sick of this racist shit. Soon nobody can say anything without it being racist.

It is so topical and so on the money. And the cartoon probably wasn't meant to be racist. But everyone is so damn sensitive...

I didn't see the racism. I just saw the inference that his plan was written by someone with low intelligence. I see it no different than if they had used a chicken or goat, other than a monkey is probably the only other animal possibly capable of using a pen.( Though there is that elephant that paints)

I think that is fair comment but the backdrop is so radioactive you would have to be a fool not to think that the reaction that would not end up going toxic.
