stratos stratos:
Because we wish to ensure that:

1) It is how they say it is. A suicide and not a murder

2) If it was a murder that the person or person(s) who killed this man get caught

3) To ensure that, if it was a suicide, better measure be taken to prevent another such occurrence if possible.

and

4) Incase someone we care about and or love ends up in prison the same thing does not happen to him or her.

Absolute nonsense.

Do you know how many people die each year in prison in Canada? Are we going to treat all of them as possible murders and release private information about the inmate to the public?

Lunacy!

What about the old guy that dies in jail. Maybe he was suffocated? Maybe someone poisoned him? It would make for a constant flow of Matlock episodes.

Ah you still don't get it do you. A rope around someone's neck vs old man dying in his sleep. You do know that EVERY death in prison is investigated. At least it is here in the US. Feel free to go on believing that anyone found with a rope around their neck is a suicide. Must be nice to live in your fantasy land. Let us know when you are ready for reality.

Suicide is the leading cause of death in Canadian jails.

My neighbour of 25 years was a nurse at the now-closed Don Jail in Toronto. She saw her fair share of suicides and suicide attempts but one thing she never saw was a guard murdering an inmate.

We've had far more correctional officers killed by inmates than inmates killed by workers in the correctional system.

If you want to be suspicious of every inmate death, go ahead. Just know that you're doing so because you're very ill-informed on the subject.

Oh wow 8 1/2 yrs working in corrections and you after talking to your neighbor know more about the jail system then I do. Look closely at what I've already posted. I never said a guard did the killing. Look at the list of reasons I gave for wanting to know if it was truly a suicide. One of the reasons is so it can be evaluated and if possible prevented from happening again.

You are all NO do not investigate at all no one has the right to investigate a death inside a jail because the Gov. takes care of us. Well guess what they did not take care of this person.

For some reason, you think the information here about this inmate should be made public as to why he's died. A ridiculous assertion.

You want us to be suspicious of each death in a prison as told by your comments about the rope around the neck might not be a suicide. With the officers having primary contact with the inmates, you're suggesting they may be at fault and we should treat each case like they might be. Another ridiculous assertion.

If you want to have that type of paranoia and lack of privacy in your Country, go for it.
