When this guy killed these two people he became their judge and jury. That's not right. You should only use enough force to prevent yourself or someone from being harmed. He wasn't being harmed.

This time. Who's to say they wouldn't break into a house with people next time, after he let them get away? He said stop before he shot. They should have stopped.

You can't kill someone because they might do something later.

It's not so much might as almost certainly will. If the guys broke into one house, and weren't caught, they will do it again.

And then what.... they'll break into another house and steal more stuff?

Holy, you're right. These people are monsters.

We should shoot them.

And when they break into a house that has people in it? Whoops.

Have they? Or are they targetting empty houses?

No matter. I completely agree. They might get cocky and break into a house with people in it, so we should shoot them.

Why stop with them? Lets kill everyone who's on parole. Odds are they will reoffend. We could use them in carnival instead of the ducks, use parolee's for targets and shoot them as they slowly go by on conveyors.

That's completely different. When one gets away with something they shouldn't they become more confident and will almost certainly do it more, and more recklessly. People on parole have been caught. Think of when you get a speeding ticket. You don't speed for a little while, or you speed more cautiously, however if you haven't gotten a ticket for a while, you will be more carefree.

Psychology is fucking awesome.

The opinion of someone who uses the phrase "could of" is worthless.

Sigh...read again.

"I can play what if games all day with this, but the criminals made multiple wrong choices, and if they started running away...then what? They could of had a gun on the dashboard. They could of used the vehicle to kill him. We don't know. If I was in that position. I would not take a chance. At all."

The "play what if games" quote relates to the could of part. I see that the impossibility of knowing the true intent of those two criminals when they were running made them an inniment threat.

So you're suggesting we shoot speeders now?

Whoosh.

If you come to visit Calgary any time soon you'll realize that shooting speeders (and tailgaters, and the retards who decide to change lanes right next to where you're merging, etc.) really isn't such a bad idea.

Nothing lethal of course. A few jolly and happy-hearted IRA-vogue-ish kneecappings should send the message just as effectively.

I saw a kid ride by on his dirtbike, he was breaking the law by driving it on the city street. I think he could have had a rifle at home and he could have been going to get it to shoot me. So I ran him down in my car. Better safe then sorry. [B-o]

Dirt bikes are legal to ride on the street aren't they?

Only licensed motorcycles can be driven on streets by riders with motorcycle licenses.

I'll take "Irony at its Finest" for $200, Alex.

The answer is: I don't get it.

Besides which.... if they ran to their car, grabbed a gun and came back... then the guy would be justified in shooting them.

You can't shoot someone for a "what if".

Or he could be dead. For all we know they could have had a higher range weapon than a shotgun (a pistol has better accuracy long range) . Like I said, we don't know.

So no license plate on it?
