"Mr. Trudeau spoke at a conference on March 5, 2010 at a conference organized by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union called Ontario 2020.

He was billed as “Justin Trudeau MP” and spoke on a bill that also included Conservative Gary Goodyear, the Minister of State for Science and Technology, and Peggy Nash, who was then the president of the NDP (she replaced Chris Charlton, the NDP MP).

Mr. Trudeau, who was Liberal critic for youth, talked about the importance of empowering young people in effecting economic change. According to the list of speaking engagements that he released, Mr. Trudeau was paid $20,000 by OPSEU to speak at the conference on that day. The union confirmed Friday that neither Mr. Goodyear nor Ms. Nash was paid.'

What a liar piece of shyte.

Have you noticed Trudeau has been silent for the last three days, not even a word about the floods in Alberta.

The only time this piece of shit shows up in Alberta is when he thinks the LPC can win a bye-election or there's a free pancake breakfast.

Guess he will be here in 10 days!

The Conservative attack ad methodology has come to Ontario. They are trying to crucify Wynne for being one and the same with McNuggets. And while I agree with their assessment of Wynne and the Liberals, the problem is, the last 2 elections were the Ontario Conservatives to lose, and they did just that.
Everybody and their dog knew how hard McFlinty sucked after his first term, so you gotta know the Conservative candidate and platform had to be disastrous to lose an election, twice.

I've pretty much reached the point where I just tune out ANY political advertisements anymore. IF I want bullshit and lies, I'll just watch the news and consumer ads.

This sounds worse and worse.

From your link:

"The Liberals claim that Mr. Trudeau was not speaking as an MP, but was merely identified as one, and likely didn’t even know that there were other MPs speaking alongside him."

Now how likely is that? Trudeau showing up and not even knowing the program?

Just because you keep trying to deflect it away doesn't mean it's gone away.

I'm not speaking for myself. I just did the old Google news thing on it. Not that many hits. The few new articles on it are opinion pieces, with around 50/50 support for Conservative and Liberal storylines.

Google News means dick-all.

Come election time, are Canadians going to remember that Justin took thousands from charities, unions to do his job or are they going to remember (or care) where that story came from?

We all know the answer to that.

Thank you for nicely summing up the Conservative storyline.

But you have to remember there are two competing storylines, not just the one you support. The opposition storyline is the "Harper the hyper-partisan control freak." If that storyline dominates then, yes, people will remember where it came from, because it's a part of that story.

Oh Zip....you cannot be this politically naive.

Being a control freak isn't an election issue. It just isn't. Especially when you have massive scandals in Ontario and Quebec with regards to wasteful spending and criminal charges, being a control freak isn't a bad thing.

The Justin story will be an election issue, along with the Mike Duffy bed-shitting. Surely more will come about in the meantime, but those are stories that will stick with people.

People don't care where the Duffy story came from, they just care about him abusing his senate spending account and then the payoff from Wright to cover the costs. The same will go for the JT story....long gone will be the thought of who broke the story.

I'm not that politically naive. As testament to this I cite thousands of posts here on hundreds of far-reaching political issues over several years. Interesting that you would, in spite of that, dismiss my comments as political naivety.

Politics--elections--are all about creating storylines that resonate with people. That's why it's so important for candidates, for example, to stick to the party line--because they are trying to sell a certain story to the public, and coherence and consistency are vital components to storytelling. It's a tale of competing stories, and which one people believe more.

You're just so caught up in your partisan mindset, you'd rather simply dismiss any conflicting viewpoints with questionable claims (Zip is politically naive) and outright denial ("It just isn't").
