Reverend Blair Reverend Blair:
Harper cares about nothing but getting re-elected. If he cared about families...all families...he would have kept the daycare system or, better yet, expanded it.

I disagree that he only cares about himself. Harper putting the choice into the hands of Canadian families shows Canadians that he respects our intelligence to make the proper choices for ourselves. We don't need to be told what to prefer. Good job Harper.

There is one thing government is not good at, it's running a business. Look at health care for christ sake!

Hey, dum-dum
Health care is not a business. It's a service. Like the Police, Fire Service, Armed Forces, Coast Guard, etc.

It still needs to be run like a business, a feat in which all governments fail miserably.

A nanny state daycare system might well result
in even more indigent left wingers.
Nurtured from the taxpayer titty, but with an
irritating penchant for snapping at conservatives' heels.

What does Harpers business experience have to do with it, it's the bureaucrats who have control.

What experience does Taliban Jack have running a bussiness? You have a resume on hand?

Since when was that a pre-requisite for running the country?

He has a masters in economics which is probably more than what most people who own their own business have. Paul Martin'(s) family owns a business and he ran the business. Wonderful job Martin did with Canada as if that is a requirement to run a country.

Every time you use the term "nanny-state" it tries to divert from your preference of a "Big Brother" state or "Mean Uncle" state.

If you think daycare is a non-issue you obviously don't have kids. It was an issue back in 1984, in 1988, a Conservative promise in 1993, and its still an issue. There's 100 ways to skin a cat, and to deliver daycare, and no one ever endorsed some huge state run institution to do so, as every rightie loves to claim.
Harper's policy has delivered no daycare spaces, none, zero. In the town I live in, 25% of the families moved away when the mills closed, and there's still a shortage of daycare spaces.
Tack that onto the nasties in Victoria and every single mom on welfare got that $100 deducted from their eligibility for a net gain of ZERO to the ones who need it the most.

Fuck your nanny-state bullshit and tell us again who's wearing the tinfoil hats! :P

Why does it have to be run like a business?
We don't run the police like a business, nor the military, nor the fire service, nor the coast guard.
