The Toronto Rocks concert is already the largest musical event in Canadian history. Fans started lining up here at around 3 a.m. Monday morning, and the gates opened here at 8 a.m. Organizers are expecting about 450,000 people to attend the event.

The Toronto concert, dubbed SARSstock, with its already legendary lineup of 15 acts including the Rolling Stones, could go down as one of the most important concert events in North American musical history next to famed events like Woodstock 1969 and Monterey Pop Festival of 1967, say some music historians.

"I'll tell you this is the biggest party in Toronto history,'' said lead singer Mick Jagger, from the concert stage. "Toronto's back and it's booming."

CN Tower Lights Up For SARS-A-Palooza
While the big show is going on in Downsview, the whole city of Toronto will be treated to a light show tonight, courtesy of the CN Tower. The tower's management have just announced that - as a gesture of support for the Toronto Rocks concert - the world's biggest building will be illuminated in powerful lights tonight beginning at about 9:30 pm, when The Rolling Stones are expected to take the stage.
